MISS CORINNE DIRECTOR
Miss Corinne began dancing at the age of 5. She has studied tap, ballet, pointe and acrobatics. At Age12, she went into New York City, taking daily classes in ballet with the Russian American Ballet School and was instructed by Carlos Peterson, ballet master at Radio City Music Hall, and Tap with Henry Letang (Instructor to Gregory HInes, Savion Glover and choreoegrapher to the Broadway shows On your Toes, Sophisicated Lady, and the movies Taps & Cotton Club.) After many years of studyng dance and voice, Miss Corinne went into the theatrical world appearing in theatres, night clubs and television from coast to coast as a featured dancer. Miss Corinne has never lost her love of dance! She thoroughly enjoys working with her students on a daily basis from beginners to advanced. Miss Corinne has made the Jacto Dance Studio a fun, nurturing and family environment that will continue to grow on Broadway.
Miss Nicole
Miss Nicole starting dancing at age 3. Since then, she has continued to pursue her education and training in dancing. Miss Nicole is certified in teaching ages 2 thru 7 in Tap, Ballet and Jazz. She brings her fun and unique way of teaching dance to all her classes. It is always Miss Nicole's priority to have a enjoyable environment for all of her students! She has been a dedicated teacher to Jacto Dance Studio for over 15 years. Her Love of the arts runs in the family! Thanks Miss Corinne!
Miss Michelle
When Miss Michelle saw how much fun her daughter Taylor was having taking classes at Jacto, she knew she had to get in on the act!! She's going on her 4th year teaching both the Tu Tu Cute and preschool classes here at Jacto. As a mom, she understands how important it is to nurture our youngest dancers, and loves the fact that she is creating the building blocks for what she hopes to be a life-long love of dance! She is no stranger to the dance floor or working with children. She takes adult dance classes at Jacto, and took dance classes as an undergratuate student at the C.W. Post campus of Long Island University, where she earned a B.A. in Psychology. Also, for 6 years, she was the Children's Choir director at St. Rose of Lima Church in Massapequa. She loves all her "kids" very much and is thrilled to be part of the Jacto family.
Miss Dana has been teaching for a solid 8-9 years and dancing practically her whole life. Hip hop is her passion. She has been on a traveling team from the ages of 13-19 and competed in many competitions all over the east coast. She has also taught some of the company classes which travel and were award winning teams, as well as teaching regular weekly classes of hip hop, jazz, pom/kick and preschool combo classes. When she finds the time she goes into the city to take classes at Broadway Dance Center and also works part time for a DJ company, dancing. She is very creative and always looking for more opportunities to use her choreography for anything , whether its competitions, shows or just to have an upbeat class where you can let loose. Her classes are just all about having fun and sharing her love for dance, the essentials of the hip hop style of dance and the music that goes along with it.
Miss Jenna
Miss Jenna has been dancing since age 2 and plans to dance for the rest of her life. Miss Jenna has studied tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, modern, and hip hop. Miss Jenna first began teaching at age 16 as a subsititute, and danced about 13 hours a week all throughout high school, as well as dancing for Oceanside High School's Dance Team for two basketball seasons. She now majors in Dance at Nassau Community College, and dances and is also this year's Captain for their award winning Dance Team. Miss Jenna has attended and graduated from a 2 seminar acting program in NYC called Nu Stars and continues to go on dancing and acting auditions whenever she finds the time. Miss Jenna loves teaching kids and even adults how to dance, and hopes to coach a team or have her own dance studio in her lifetime!
Dance has been Miss Justina's passion since she was 3 years old. She has learned how to do ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, modern, lyrical, calestetics, acrobatics, pom/kickline and cheerleading from many different teachers. She now attends Dowling college where she is studying to become a teacher in both English and Special Education. In high school Miss. Justina was the captain of her dance team for three years where she choregraphed dances for things such as games, competitions, and marching band festivals. Miss Justina coached cheerleading for three years as well. She also participated in other performing arts such as singing and acting where she performed in shows such as 42nd Street, Fame, and Oklahoma. When it comes to handling kids Miss Justina has no problem, considering she has 5 other siblings ranging from ages 1 to 16 years old. Miss Justina hopes that her students will have fun in class as well as understand the steps in the dances. Her love for teaching of all ages and all types of dance will continue to grow and Miss Justina will never stop dancing.
Miss Allie is a student at Hofstra University who anticipates graduating in May 2012 with a mathematics education degree and a dance minor. She began dancing at age 4 and had studied ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and hip hop. Allie has attended numerous dance conventions and master classes with choreographers such as Wade Robson and Laure Johnson. She has studied a variety of techniques, including the Cecchetti method of ballet ant Graham and Horton techniques of modern. She performed for 6 years with the Community Dance Ensemble from New London, CT in nursing homes, hospitals, Walt Disney World, and Hershey Park. Recently, Allie has performed with Danceworks, a student-run dance club at Hofstra. Aside from dancing, Allie is a coxswain on the Hofstra crew team and enjoys traveling. She loves to share her passion for dance with her students and is excited to spend another year with the Jacto Dance family!
Miss Alexa
Miss Alexa has been dancing for 18 years and teaching for 5. She has done almost every style of dance and is now just focusing on hip hop and jazz. She was on her high school and college dance teams, and was a cheerleader for 6 years as well. She has danced in a few upcoming artists music videos and is currently trying to get on a professional dance team. Her style is energetic, hard hitting, and of course, a lot of fun. She has taught all ages, from babies to adults. She loves helping her students be the best dancers they can be, and most of all, to be confident in themselves. Most of all, she wants her students to get to experience the joy she feels every time she puts on music and dances.
Miss Erin
Miss Erin has studied Irish step dance as well as competed for many years, She is currently attending Massapequa High School and enjoys her time taking classes and teaching at Jacto Dance Studio
Miss Jackie
Miss Jackie is a student at Massapequa High School. She has made Principals Honor Roll several times in a row, and High Honor Roll several times. She began dancing at the age of three and hasn't ben able to stop since! She first began doing combo tap and ballet classes and fell in love from the moment she did her first slap. She is a part of Jacto's Elite Company Dancers for the past three years, competing in several different competitions over that time. Miss Jackie used to perform a tap solo for three years, and even competed in her first competition as a solo artists. She loves dancing in her Company Hip-Hop, and loves the different styles of dance that Jacto's production class has to offer people. She enjoys teaching little kids to dance, and gain the skill to become a more amazing and hopefully future Elite Company Dancer. She loves being able to experience the different styles of dance through teaching, even if she doesn't take that class. Miss Jackie is an excellent dancer with a big heart and good head on her shoulders!!
